Sweetgum pods – 6 pack

PICS COMING SOON! Sweetgum tree pods (Liquidambar styraciflua), sometimes called witches’ burrs, are ball-shaped pods that harbor microfauna that are great for isopods and springtails. These are dried sweetgum pods that have been frozen for at least 24 hours, then heat treated to eliminate nasty hitchhikers. We sterilize our pods by baking at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for at least an hour, then letting them cool to room temperature by leaving them in the oven. Your sweetgum pod will provide a great hiding spot for isopods and springtails!

Pods vary in size but are about 1″ in diameter. Price is for a 6-pack of sweetgum pods.
