Magnolia pods harbor microfauna that are great for isopods and springtails. Roaches like them too! These are dried southern magnolia pods that have been frozen for at least 24 hours, then heat treated to eliminate nasty hitchhikers by baking at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for at least an hour, then let cool to room temperature by leaving them in the oven. Your magnolia pod will provide a great hiding spot for smaller critters in your tank, including isopod mancae and baby roaches! Magnolia pods may also slowly mold over, making them a good food source for springtails and other invertebrates that appreciate mold or decaying plant matter. To slow or prevent mold growth, place them in a dry area of your enclosure.
Pods vary in size but are about 3-4″ long (including stem).
