Striped burrowing roaches are beautiful feeder roaches that make a great substitute for dubia. Nymphs (not pictured) are greyish brown like dubia and like to burrow through the substrate. Adults are shiny black and tan and tend to stay above ground. This species appreciates a variety of fruits and vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, apples, or oranges. Care is similar to dubia but these roaches prefer temperatures a bit cooler than dubia (around 80°F), and appreciate a few inches of substrate like coco fiber to burrow in.
